Shelter In Place Order Lifted For Fairfield School After No Weapon Found

A shelter-in-place order for a Fairfield County school that believed a weapon may have been brought to school has been lifted after a police search.
Students at Walter Fitzgerald Campus in Fairfield were told to shelter in place on Thursday, May 13, after school officials called the Fairfield Police Department to search the school when fears surfaced that a student may have a weapon at the school, said Andrea Clark, director of communications at Fairfield Public Schools.
The shelter in place was lifted around noon Thursday, after police searched the school, and talked with the students involved and no weapon was found, said Fairfield Police Lt. Antonio Granata.
