See Colonial Williamsburg's annual tree lighting ceremony––virtually this year

The annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Colonial Williamsburg will look at little different this year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
“A beloved Williamsburg holiday tradition – the 61st annual Community Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony presented by Colonial Williamsburg and the Kiwanis Club of Williamsburg – will go virtual in 2020 to limit health risks associated with COVID-19,” according to the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation’s news release.
The event is free and open to the public.
Attendees can expect to see a 40-foot spruce tree with “nearly 7,500 lights, music and a community reading of “a Visit from St. Nicholas”––“The Night Before Christmas”
