School board to review plans for new year

The summer break will soon come to an end for students in the K-12 public schools, with classes to begin on Tuesday, Aug. 23 — roughly three weeks from now.
And as is customary at this time of year, Thursday’s meeting (Aug. 5) of the Davis school board will be dominated by updates on agenda items relating to the upcoming 2021-2022 academic year.
Included will be brief updates regarding the most recent guidance regarding COVID safety measures from the federal Centers for Disease Control and the California Department of Public Health. On Thursday, senior school administrators are expected to discuss how the district plans to respond to the latest COVID guidance from the state and federal level, as well as other aspects of reopening the local schools after the summer break. Many parents (and teachers) have questions regarding how things will work during the new school year.
