The city of Sandy Springs, north of Atlanta, will invest $5.9 million on bike and pedestrian improvements for three new bridges, reports Adrianne Murchison for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The bridges are part of the Georgia Department of Transportation’s $1.6 billion Ga. 400 Express Lanes project, which is scheduled to begin construction in 2022 and will add "16 miles of toll lanes on Ga. 400 and four bus rapid transit stations between the North Springs MARTA station and McFarland Parkway in Forsyth County. Bridges will be replaced at Pitts Road, Spalding Drive and Roberts Drive."
