In Executive Order 12, series of 2021 signed on Monday, Mayor Alfredo Marañon III said the ban has been recommended by the city COVID-19 Task Force, considering the increase in cases in the province and also in the northern Negros city.
Barangay Vito, a coastal barangay, will celebrate the San Vicente Ferrer Festival from May 1 to 2.
“As such, it always draws a huge number of attendees coming from other cities and municipalities, and even the neighboring island of Bantayan (in Cebu),” Marañon said.
The Vito Catholic Church, one of the major attractions in the village, is a pilgrims’ place and one of the historical landmarks of Sagay.
