RPD preparing for busy holiday weekend at Ontario Beach Park

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Rochester Police Department is preparing for a busy Memorial Day weekend at Ontario Beach Park.
The police department says it will increase patrols, and law enforcement officers from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police will join the foot, bike and vehicle patrols in the area.
The Rochester Police Department says it expects a large turnout to the beach this year, and if the amount of people there becomes unsafe, officers will close down the parking lot and surrounding streets.

On Friday, May 22, 2020, nearly 300 people gathered for a party near Boston Street and Joseph Avenue and fights broke out.
