The City of Rohnert Park cut the ribbons on a new fire station on the city's west side today. The ribbon cutting symbolized the official opening of a project that has been in the works for nearly five years. 
The 4,300 square foot station, located on the west side of Highway 101, is a visible reminder of the city's commitment to the safety of our community. The addition of the new station will reduce average response times city wide, and help Public Safety meet its goal of a 4-minute response time. 
The new two-bay fire station has room for up to three vehicles - a ladder truck, engine, and quick response vehicle. In addition, it includes living quarters for up to three firefighters. The station will be staffed 24/7.
