Robber shoots himself in botched stick-up in Chicago’s South Loop

A 26-year-old gunman was shot with his own weapon during a robbery in Chicago’s South Loop Sunday morning, WGN reports.
The unidentified victim, who cops say was also the assailant, shot himself in his leg around 1:30 a.m. A physical altercation with the intended robbery victim reportedly preceded the shooting.
