Richardson ISD named an arts district of distinction by state group
The honor places Richardson among the top 4% of districts in Texas.

The Texas Art Education Association has named Richardson ISD a 2020 District of Distinction.
Just 42 school districts in Texas received the recognition after the association examined the visual art programs of more than 1,000 districts, according to Richardson ISD.
The award means the district’s arts education is in the top 4% of school districts in Texas.
Richardson ISD met or exceeded the criteria in 12 categories including membership, exhibitions, contests, community engagement in the visual arts through field experiences, community service, and inclusion of other content areas.
