Former Minister of Works Rene Montero is at the heart of a land scandal in which it is alleged that a number of dubious transactions were conducted on his behalf through the Ministry of Natural Resources during his terms of office. The latest revelation regarding a scheme that was purportedly ran by the Cayo Central Area Representative and his family comes by way of a whistleblower who has come forward with details that seemingly corroborate what was disclosed by Deputy Prime Minister Cordel Hyde during Friday’s house meeting. According to former employee Eddie De La Rosa, he is personally aware of numerous instances of doing business using the names and social security information of constituents and other individuals to acquire land without their knowledge. In one case, he asserts that information belonging to the deceased victim of a road traffic accident was used in the transfer of a land title. Earlier today, Eddie De La Rosa appeared on Plus TV’s Rise and Shine Morning Show.
