Removing 'Black Lives Do Matter' — an open letter to Fayetteville city government

 To the Fayetteville City Council and government of Fayetteville, North Carolina:
I hope everything is going great for you all. But the way you all handled the Market House painting situation was truly unacceptable. The timing was horrible.
I was aware that the mural was temporary. Even before the paint went down, I expressed that symbolism is pointless without real change.
However, after speaking with the artist, I decided to help out. Even after looking at it, I still felt as if it had done nothing. But I respect the artist’s stance and freedom of expression. In addition, I knew a few of the artists personally.
