Remembering longtime Gaston Gazette 'Bible Says' writer
The longtime Cleveland County resident submitted Bible verses to
The Star and
The Gazette in his "The Bible Says" column for nearly three decades.
A stroke in March and other health complications claimed Brittain’s life April 8, according to his son, Tim Brittain. He was 94 years old. The family plans to hold a memorial service to commemorate his life and all he guided by faith.
“He made the profession of faith at just 6 years old but did not realize at the time the commitment he made to God,” said Tim Brittain. “His father was a Methodist preacher. All of the facts were laid out in front of him. It was a matter of him acting on it.”
