Vegas reaped the benefits by acquiring additional assets, including a slew of draft picks.
The Detroit Red Wings had no such issues four years ago, losing fringe forward Tomas Nosek, but they still will have some decisions to make before protection lists are due on July 17 for this year’s Seattle Kraken expansion draft.
