Razor clams again toxic, CDFW closes fishery

Card image cap

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife shut down the county’s recreational razor clam fishery resulting from high domoic acid levels in clams surveyed on April 24 from Clam Beach. The recreational fishery frequently sees closures, the longest being from 2016 to 2021 following a massive phytoplankton bloom.
