The Rapid City Rush hope to be one of those teams joining the postseason party.
After sweeping the Tulsa Oilers last weekend, the Rush are sitting in fifth place in the Western Conference.
Rapid City currently trails Utah, 0.548 to 0.547, for the fourth and final playoff spot.
Also, the Grizzlies have one game in hand over the Rush.
That’s why the Rush are treating every series from here on out like a playoffs series.
“Our hockey team has been playing very good over the last couple of months and every game has been huge for us in that time period,” Rush assistant coach Jeremy Gates said. “But it’s been no different. Every game that we go in is a big game. It has big implications. Our fellows have done a great job sticking to the structured game plan. But they also playing with a lot of confidence and realizing that we are a good hockey team in this league. We really want to make the playoff push and make some noise in the ECHL.”
