QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Tuesday night’s Quincy Village Council meeting was interrupted for about 20 minutes by hackers who are known as Zoom Bombers.
With COVID-19 protocols preventing government boards from holding in person meetings, business has to be conducted via Zoom.
The hack happened as Quincy Police Chief Jeremy Burch was giving an update on his department and going over statistics.
Village Manager Brittany Butler had to stop Burch’s presentation when she noticed the hack. Someone named Ryan then said something to Butler about screen share. After several seconds of silence, a group of voices then came on and stopped the meeting.
