The districts says they have done the following:
Significantly improved the customer service experience for families
Created exciting new programs for student
Expanded professional development opportunities for educators
Restructured so that PPSD staff can best meet student needs.
Back in June of 2020, the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) released the Turnaround Action Plan (TAP) for Providence Public Schools.
The plan came one year after the tragic report by Johns Hopkins Institute on the school district to the Council on Elementary and Secondary Education.
The report is what led to the state’s control of the district in November of 2019.
