PAU's PR-126 rice variety is gaining popularity among farmers in Punjab as an alternative to water-intensive rice varieties. Punjab Agriculture University has witnessed a significant increase in sales of PR-126 seeds, with 9,000 quintals sold this year compared to 4,800 quintals last year. The university has set up 35 seed sale counters across the state to meet the demand for this short duration variety.
