Boris Johnson is facing renewed pressure from his backbenchers to set out a clear plan for lifting the lockdown, after the Prime Minister failed to confirm when restrictions.Â
Asked by journalists whether lockdown would be eased by the summer he said: "I think it's too early to say when we'll be able to lift some of the restrictions."
The new variant was "not more deadly but it is much more contagious and the numbers are very great."Â
During a Downing Street press conference, Priti Patel said it was "far too early" for people to consider booking a foreign holiday for this summer.Â
