Police ID man struck by train in Brainerd
Brainerd Police Chief Mike Bestul said last week the train operator told police he saw a man walking toward the tracks, get onto the tracks and into the path of the train. The operator applied the brakes but was not able to stop in time and hit the man.

A 66-year-old Brainerd man who died after being struck by a BNSF Railway train Thursday, July 1, was identified by the Brainerd Police Department.
