Wartime shell found by a farmer at Pewsey this morning
OFFICERS from Devizes Police are currently dealing with a wartime shell found by a farmer at Stanton St Bernard in the Pewsey area this morning.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: "We were called to the scene – a farm near Pewsey - at just before 10am today where a member of the public had discovered what’s believed to be a live four-inch naval shell.
"Officers secured and cordoned off the area and currently the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team (EOD) is about to carry out a small controlled explosion."
