PM Narendra Modi laid the foundation stones of Dhubri-Phulbari bridge connecting Assam and Meghalaya. It is being touted as India's longest bridge which will reduce the distance between two towns by hours.

The 19-km-long Dhubri-Phulbari bridge will reduce travel time between Assam and Meghalaya by 6 hours
It will reduce distance between Phulbari in west Meghalaya and Dhubri west Assam from 200 km to 19 km
It will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 5,000 crore
