Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the loss of lives in a road accident in Maharashtra, where 12 people were killed and 17 others injured. PM Modi announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh to the next of kin of each deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis also expressed sorrow over the incident and instructed financial assistance to be provided to the families of the deceased and the treatment of the injured at government expense.
