Our CorrespondentKohima, Aug. 17 (EMN): Manav Utthan Sewa Samiti (MUSS), a Kohima-based charitable organisation, visited Japfü Phiki Krüna School in Viswema and distributed stationary items including sweets to needy students on August 17. Maya Gurung, an executive member of the organisation, informed that the charitable visitation was part of its programme “Mission Education: Educate Child, Educate Nation.” Apprising that a total number of 14 students have been handed over the materials, she stated that they undertook such activities once a year with the vision “to fill the gap between the “privileged and underprivileged children.” Informing that the charitable programme started since a few years back, Gurung recounted on how they came across children particularly from poor section of the society who do not even have without basic needs like textbook, exercise book, geometrical instruments, eraser, pen, pencil etc. The school authority, while reciprocating the noble gesture extended towards the children in need, acknowledged the visiting them comprising of eleven members. It was learnt that members of Manav Utthan Sewa Samiti also reached out to needy people in and around Kohima with essential items earlier during the COVID-19 pandemic.
