PETERSBURG — Police arrested a man they claim held a child out of a car window while being chased by officers earlier this month.
Tavon Ford, 31, of Petersburg, was arrested without incident Wednesday by federal marshals. He faces a litany of charges, including child neglect, reckless driving, several traffic violations, one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute it, and failure to appear in court in Henrico County.
Police said the incident happened Feb. 6 on University Boulevard. According to reports, an officer attempted to stop Ford when he drove off and led them on a pursuit.
