President Francisco Sagasti on Monday afternoon participated in a ceremony to receive two KC-130H Hercules aircraft acquired from Spain, which will augment Peruvian Air Force's airlift capacity for personnel and cargo.
These aircraft will help increase the response capacity to face the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, by transporting vaccines and health workers around the country, as well as facilitating the vaccination process.
Each of these aircraft has been upgraded and can carry 20 tons of cargo as well as transport 92 passengers.
They are also capable of airlifting 64 paratroopers and can even refuel other aircraft in the air as a tanker.
