The maximum capacity of the Historic Sanctuary and Archaeological Park of Machu Picchu once again stands at 675 daily visitors (equivalent to 30% of the total), since April 19.
This amount was set by the Government for visits to archaeological sites located in provinces at extreme risk level due to COVID-19 contagion.
Indeed, Peru's main tourist attraction —which was declared a World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World— is located in Urubamba, one of Cusco region's five provinces and one of the Inca country's 41 provinces at extreme risk level, according to the latest report issued by the Ministry of Health.
