COVID-19 positive staff at Saskatchewan’s hardest-hit long term care home were given permission to return to work before completing a 14-day quarantine because of an “extreme staff shortage,” according to a confidential report obtained by Postmedia.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority issued a special exemption on Dec. 9 for employees at Extendicare Parkside to return to work after 10 days instead of the mandated 14. That same day, it entered into a co-management agreement with the privately-operated home.
