One minute last March, Amanda and Anthony Stromoski were considering whether they’d have to permanently close the popular Kingston bookstore, bar and coffee shop they opened in November 2017 because of the pandemic.
The next minute, with community interest strong, the couple, who own Rough Draft Bar & Books, swiftly, emotionally and gratefully set up an online book and merchandise ordering system.
The pair, both age 38, piled into their dark gray Subaru Forester and attempted to fill more book and coffee bean home delivery orders than they could handle within a 30-mile radius of their shop.
But now, even with the store open for regular business again, space constraints have eliminated its ability to have customers sit inside and sip coffee and alcoholic drinks, a key profit driver for Rough Draft.
