I wonder if a profit sharing model could work . Say the athletes give some percentage of their 1st year bonus back to the program.
That sort of model could work even if not every kid involved goes pro. The one immediate problem is why would anyone choose to do that (maybe if the coaching/development is that much better??)
Anyway, I can see this idea not being a financial loss, but continuing as a service that fills a need. But its hard to see it being a profit maker unless the basketball infrastructure changes in just the right way.
