One dead in Spring Valley trailer fire

SPRING VALLEY —
An elderly woman died Saturday night after her double-wide trailer caught fire in a Spring Valley mobile home park, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
Firefighters from the San Miguel Fire Department responded to a call for assistance just after 9:45 p.m. and found a fully-involved trailer fire at the Sweetwater Lodge Motor Home Park on Jamacha Boulevard just north of Ramundo Way, said sheriff’s Lt. Dustin Lopez.
They discovered that a juvenile male, identified as the grandson of the trailer’s occupant, made it out of the mobile home but his grandmother may not have. Due to the severity of the fire, they were not able to enter the trailer to look for her. After the fire was extinguished, firefighters and a Sheriff’s fire investigation team found the woman’s body inside the structure. The fire did not spread to any other units.
