The Okoboji Community School District was recently announced as a runner up in the state auditor's yearly Public Innovations and Efficiencies — or PIE — Program.
Okoboji Schools was selected from a field of 29 other 3A school districts who chose to participate this year. Greene County Community Schools took the top slot in the 3A bracket, but state auditors said Okoboji Schools has taken plenty of steps to help save on public spending.
