Albany, N.Y. — Just days after shame and threats from Gov. Andrew Cuomo, the pace of Covid-19 vaccinations in New York hospitals has sped up.
Hospitals in the state have been performing 10,809 vaccinations a day over the past three weeks. That increased to 31,157 shots over the last two days, Cuomo said today during a press conference in Albany.
On Monday, Cuomo threatened hospitals with fines and the potential loss of vaccine allocations if they didn’t use their doses fast enough. He called out the worst-performing hospitals in the state with a chart during his briefing.
