Northern Health Region records 98 new cases, B.C. has 1,158 since Friday

VICTORIA, B.C. – Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix gave their joint COVID-19 update Monday.
The Northern Health Region recorded 98 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend, with 28 of those coming on Sunday.
The active case count in the region is 359. There are 32 people in hospital, 15 of those are in ICU.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 74 COVID-19 related deaths in the Northern Health Region.
Over 3,000 of the nearly 3,500 cases in the region have recovered.
The positivity rate for the Northern Health Region is 12.6 per cent, while the B.C. average is 5.2 per cent.
