The COVID-19 outbreak at Joyceville Institution has been successfully eliminated.
Just over five weeks ago, the Correctional Service Canada institution’s staff and inmates were battling an outbreak, which reached as high as 160 inmates contracting COVID-19.

The last recovered case from the outbreak occurred on Jan. 29, an email from Michael Shrider, acting regional communications manager for the correctional service, said.
No new cases have been reported since the end of January.
