Nagaland: 17 projects approved under NESIDS

Our Reporter Dimapur, Nov.20 (EMN): About 17 projects worth INR 333.62 crore have been approved for Nagaland under the North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS) in education, health, power, roads and bridges, and water supply sectors since 2019. Out of the total amount, INR 147.93 crore has been released while INR 121.24 crore has been utilised.  According to the NESIDS, there are three projects under the education sector — implementation of educational infrastructure related to IT projects in 190 schools across Nagaland approved on May 10 2022 and scheduled to be completed by May 31, 2024; in-service teachers’ training cum examination centre with residential facilities approved on March 3, 2021 and completed on March 31, 2022; and construction of 92 separate girls toilet in government schools approved on March 29, 2020 and completed e on March 30, 2022. Strengthening of health systems for the management of COVID-19 pandemic with special reference to combat the impending third wave of the pandemic in Nagaland; strengthening of health infrastructure of various health facilities and strengthening health infrastructure for comprehensive response to possible outbreak of COVID-19 were the three projects in the health sector approved by NESIDS.
