Leeton Shire Council
As part of Council’s Senior Week celebrations, residents are invited to a free “On the Road 65+ and Mobility” Workshop to be held on Thursday 22 April at the Leeton Shire Library from 10am to 12pm.
The workshop will feature a presentation on road safety, road rules and safe scooter use as well as a demonstration of mobility scooters.
“In order to maintain independence and mobility, some senior residents are purchasing scooters or special mobility vehicles,” said Council’s Road Safety Officer, Steph Puntoriero.
The workshop will provide residents with information to assist them to make informed decisions when purchasing such vehicles and their responsibilities in operating these vehicles on our roads and footpaths.
