Music in the Square is back
LIMA — Music in the Square concerts will return in July, reviving the popular Friday-night tradition that was halted due to coronavirus last summer.
This year, concert goers will be able to carry alcoholic beverages outdoors, thanks to the recent adoption of a designated outdoor refreshment area (DORA).
Adults 21 and older can now purchase a DORA cup from participating restaurants, allowing visitors to carry alcoholic beverages outdoors and into other participating restaurants for refills. The DORA extends into the North and Main Street corridor, the Market Street corridor and the central business district.
The first concert of the series will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 16, in the northwest quadrant of Town Square outside ArtSpace/Lima, featuring Johnny Reed and the HouseRockers. ArtSpace will hold its summer fundraiser the same evening.
