Mujib Barsho Marcel Second Division Chess League, organised by Bangladesh Chess Federation and sponsored by Walton Group, will kick off on Jan 20.
BCF General Secretary and International Chess Federation zone 2.3 President Syed Shahab Uddin Shamim disclosed the details in a press conference at the BCF hall room in the capital on Tuesday while Walton Group Executive Director FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn and other BCF officials were also present there.
The league will be held in the 8/9-round Swiss-League system. Each team will consist of 4 regular and 2 additional players.
The champions and runners-up teams will get promotion to the upcoming first division league. Also, the champions will be awarded with Tk 25,000, runners-up with Tk 15,000 and third-placed Tk 10,000.
