I imagine my mother getting very serious and saying he is not okay because i think for them and my father being a Black Man in america who had a phd in organic chemistry in 1957 from cornell university, who had to constantly face down white racism but be comfortable in his own skin and insist on his equality. But my mother being a white woman who understood racism and understood it in the southwest but who really transcended the way into which she was raised to be a racist and demonstrated it could be transcended. It meant they both had a very sharp and keen sensE Of what it meant to understand what you have been given to be grateful for it and honor it. I think for both of them it would be like this is not honoring anything. But himself and some twisted sensE Of whatever his own sensE Of importance is is ugly and wrong. And we have to do better.
