Monroe City Hall to see main floor overhaul
Monroe City Hall's main floor could soon see some significant changes.
City council reviewed proposed modifications of the main floor of the building during its virtual work session on Monday. Kohler Architecture of Monroe has been contracted for preliminary design work.
The changes are designed to streamline the process for residents who come to the building, as well as address potential safety concerns and ensure compliancy with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). 
The hope is that the work can be completed by the November election.
The bulk of the project centers around modifying the existing service windows for the Clerk-Treasurer's Office, Engineering / Public Services and Water departments.
