Last Friday, the veteran television presenter Rageh Omaar appeared on the ITV’s News at Ten bulletin slurring words and showing a visible drooping of the eye. Omaar subsequently received swift medical attention and it was later revealed that the 56-year-old had suffered a transient ischemic attack (TIA), commonly known as a “mini stroke”.
