LANSING, MI -- Michigan’s electors formally cast their votes for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris Monday, completing a key milestone in the process of Biden becoming the 46th U.S. president.
States across the country held similar ceremonies as the Electoral College met to sign documents that reflect certified results of the November presidential election. All of Michigan’s 16 electors, one for each of the state’s congressional districts and two U.S. Senate seats, are bound by law to support the winner of the popular vote.
