HOUSTON (ICIS)--Mexican polyvinyl chloride
(PVC) producer Orbia said on Thursday it
expects PVC demand to remain strong for the
rest of the year even as tight global supply
should begin to stabilise in Q2.
The comments came during a conference call to
discuss the company’s first quarter earnings.
CEO Sameer Bharadwaj said Q1 earnings, which
more than doubled year on year, were driven by
PVC pricing at historically high levels and
improved margins amid tight global supply.
