Mexico-based Envases buys German packaging company

Mexico City — Envases Europe A/S, a member of the Envases Universales Group, a Mexico-based global packaging supplier, has agreed to acquire Germany's Huber Packaging Group GmbH for an undisclosed sum.
A deal is expected to be signed in the first quarter of 2021, Envases Europe, of Loesning, Denmark, said in a news release posted on its website.
Founded in Öhringen in 1871, Huber makes metal and plastic packaging and has 900 employees at six production sites in Germany, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Austria and Hungary. Its headquarters remains in Öhringen. Plastics packaging is concentrated at a plant in Aesch, Switzerland.
