Merritt RCMP received a 911 call on June 9, 2020 from a concerned citizen driving with his children down Voght St. and being followed by an intoxicated male suspect in another vehicle.
In an incident that was said to be unprovoked, the male suspect had brandished a knife at the victim and his children.
Merritt RCMP were able to locate and arrest the suspect, Mr. Jackie Adams, within minutes of the 911 call being received.
Charges including assault with a weapon, and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose were approved by the Crown against Mr. Adams.
