As part of the Twin Ports Interchange reconstruction project, Miller and Coffee creeks will outlet into the St. Louis River together — a necessary merger that will create some benefits for native fish.

Crews drive steel sheet pilings into the ground at the Miller Creek outlet in Duluth on Monday. They will create a cofferdam and then drain the water in order to construct a new, larger four-barrel culvert that will become the outlet for both Miller and Coffee creeks.
