CEDAR PARK, TX — The Cedar Park Police Department is bringing in a new four-legged volunteer to help work with its victim services division.
Tonka, a three-year-old black Great Dane, is one of the department's newest volunteers to help victims of domestic violence cope with traumatic events and to help first responders deal with stress.
Jessica Gonos, the department's victim services coordinator, said the role of the division is to respond to person-on-person crimes 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
