McAlpine lands £73m hospital upgrade job

Firm to build one new mental health centre and upgrade two more
Sir Robert McAlpine has been appointed main contractor on a £73m job to upgrade mental health services in the north of England.
The deal involves work on three sites, including one new build, for the Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust’s Care Environment Development and Re-provision programme.
McAlpine has already started work on the construction of a new mental health and learning disability centre at Northgate Hospital in Morpeth.
