Man receives deferred sentence after police said he nearly hit them while fleeing from Evans

A 20-year-old pleaded guilty to charges of felony eluding, careless driving and reckless endangerment stemming from the Feb. 16 incident at a pre-trial conference earlier this week, according to an affidavit for his arrest. If he meets the conditions of his deferred sentence, he will avoid jail time and the charges will be dismissed.
